Our Philosophy
Lettering in mountain biking is about showing up, supporting the team, and participating in the full experience. Practice attendance is the foundation of our lettering system.
How to Earn a Varsity Letter
Athletes must meet the minimum requirement for each of the three requirements below, and earn at least 25 points total.
1. Practice Attendance
There are 33 total practices. Riders must attend at least 20 practices (60%). Riders attending fewer than 20 practices cannot letter.

2. Trail Building Days
Riders must attend at least 1 of the 3 trail-building days.

3. Race Participation
Riders must participate in at least 1 of the 4 regular season races.

Earning your Letter
To earn a varsity letter you need to hit all three requirements and accumulate 25 points:

It is important that our athletes show commitment to the team, the sport, and to their own success.
The head coaches may award a letter at their discretion based on overall commitment and contribution to the program for cases with extenuating circumstances.
